Key Information

Weekly Timetable

 Phonics and Reading

Phonics: Please ensure your child's phonics folder (with their books) comes in to school every day so that they have it available when it needs changing. The book changing day will differ depending on which group they are in and where they are in the teaching cycle. We asses the children every half term and we will keep you informed on where your child is and what support you can give them.

Reading: We encourage the children to read their phonics book at least 3 times a week. The children are already familiar with the phonics books that have been sent home. This is so that the children can focus on fluency and speed of reading at home.

PE

Caterpillar Class have PE on Thursday.

Please make sure your child is wearing the correct PE kit on PE days. The school PE kit is: trainers, black jogging bottoms, white t shirt and a black jumper or their school jumper. Please also ensure that your child is not wearing any jewellery and that if they have long hair it is tied up.

Library

We visit the school library on Wednesday. Please can you send in your child's library book in every Wednesday. We hope you will then enjoy reading your child's new library book to them when they bring it home!

If your child does not bring their book in they are not able to get a new one.

This term we are learning...

Our new topic for the summer term 2024 is 'In The Garden'.

Please see the curriculum information for parents for the first half of the term. Our focus in this half term is plants, and we will then move on to looking at mini beasts in the second half of term.
